Constance “Conney”Borda started Eggcup Designs in 1996. Conney previously was a graphic artist who, after she became displaced by a computer, realized that her hat-making hobby was quickly turning into an obsession -- and then a career. Eggcup Designs now offers its fine women's hats in major cities east of the Mississippi.
Each Eggcup hat is hand-blocked, lined, and hand-trimmed with quality imported materials. Using old-fashioned, time-consuming millinery techniques, Eggcup hats showcase exquisite workmanship for a long lasting accessory. Eggcup hat designs are reminiscent of a time when every woman wore a hat every day.
Eggcup hats are created with an understanding that the right style enhances a woman’s appearance by balancing her features while framing the face with color and design.
The Fall-Winter line uses velour fur felts, soft and plush to the touch in beautifully rich seasonal colors. Styles featured are caps, cloches, fedoras and cocktail hats -- small brimless jewels, perfect for close quarters of a cocktail party.
